We have been eating at NUS Canteens more often. Things are cheaper there and the students are all away for the semester holidays, so there’s no crowd!
A colleague was saying that the “Mala” chicken at the NUS Engineering Canteen is not bad for its price. So, 4 or 5 of us went to order the same thing.
The lady in the photo, she calls everyone ‘handsome guy’/’shuai ge’ and ‘pretty lady’/’mei nu’. haha…
A piece of ‘mala’ chicken and 2 side dishes, we all chose 2 vegetables.
Around $2.50 I think. Can’t really remember.
The chicken is not as spicy as we thought, but the taste is not bad.

Oh it’s been ages since anyone called me shuai ge… I need to visit this place & find this auntie… LOL.
Alright, I’m going to try this Chicken Rice after the semester begins in August. Never tried it before even after 2 yrs in NUS. Ha!
ahh… i am in engin for 3 yrs but i ate in this stall less than 10 times. don’t you find the rice very wet n soggy?>>The only stall that I find it nice is the indian stall, indonesian pahang (which can get quite sick after a while).
kenny the ‘shuai ge’,>you are pretty thick skin aren’t you? LOL>>an economist baker,>there are certain stalls amongst the NUS Canteens that i have not tried even after 8 years! LOL…>>foodiegymmie,>the rice that day was not soggy. is it usually soggy? will try again next time to see if they are consistent š
