The wife and I have a shared calendar that will display automatically on our iPhones. We have this shared calendar so that we know where each other will be for certain days. I am the more forgetful one and can’t remember that she said she will be meeting her girl friends for tea etc. It’s also for her to know where I am eating with other friends!

The interesting part is that sometimes, we have a ‘date night’ appearing and there’s no venue listed. I am to meet her somewhere and she will bring me there. This was one of the dates.

She was bringing me for a Japanese meal at Fukuichi Japanese Dining at TripleOne Somerset (formerly known as Singapore Power Building).

The complimentary appetizer.

The appetizer for the night was shredded tuna that was very addictive. Both of us had 1 each and we were actually wanting more.

The wife ordered the “Bento Set” $35, and this was the salad that came with it.

The Bento Set comes with 2 longish bento boxes. The first box had assorted tempura and salmon.
The Salmon was well prepared. It’s delicate and seasoning was just nice for our taste buds.

We were like smiling to ourselves because we thought of our Nobu adventures. We will drop by Nobu and have the same bentos if that city we are visiting has a Nobu. This looks a little similar!

The sashimi here’s fresh and good because the restaurant is a collaboration between Fukuichi Gyogyo of Shizuoka, Japan and Chun Cheng Fishery of Singapore.

Doesn’t the prawns here looks so good?
So fresh and so sweet too. Plus more sashimi!

A very delicious makimono with lots of fish roe.

The Chirashi  Zushi. ($32)
I have been thinking of chirashis recently and this was pretty good. One of the freshest seafood you can get and oh, if you are the one of those who likes to try everything, there’s almost everything inside here!

We had an observation: the wife’s food was served in rectangular boxes, mine’s in a big round bowl.

Gyuniku Fagura Sauce ($30)

If you are ordering something to share, you should try this! Grilled beef with Goose Liver Sauce. When it’s served, if you do not like liver, you will smell a slight liver smell that might put you off. If you are a foie gras person, this combination of very very tender beef and the goose liver sauce will melt your heart. It’s really very very good!

Not rectangular, not round, but a square plate’s that curved for the food we are sharing.
(OK, roll your eyes, we sometimes just talk nonsense when we eat, don’t you all?)

The dessert that came with the wife’s bento set. Not ice cream, but green tea mochi!

We went on an weekday evening and it’s busy but not super crowded which was nice. We like the sashimi here which was really fresh. The pricing is also very reasonable.
