Three colleagues have gone to recce (or reconnaissance) the newly refurbished and renamed “West Coast Plaza”. They saw a few restaurants opened for business and told us, we found a new place to eat. We will go next week.
So the next week arrived. (ie few days ago) I got an early morning SMS to remind me to bring my Sushi Tei card. A colleague had $40 worth of vouchers and with the Sushi Tei card we can get another 10% off.
Ah. West Coast Plaza looks different. But there’s still hint of the old Ginza Plaza all around. If your memory’s good, you can remember which shops were in which lots too. 🙂
The manager at Sushi Tei looks familiar. I think he is from the Holland Village branch. I recognise him. (because he gives excellent service before at HV)
I think he must be having a tough time trying to teach all the new hands in this branch though. Service is having some teething problems, but I guess it will go away after a while.
Now to continue, here’s what we ate:
One colleague had the salmon sashimi rice.
Then our order of the fried salmon skin came. We had to return this because it was cold. Really cold. Too long on the counter? Anyway, we told them, they took it back and did something to it and it came back much better.
I had the char siu ramen. Spicy Miso version. So so lah…
Ms Preggy’s who is no longer Preggy is now eating all her raw food. LOL
She had the this! Count the number of raw stuff in it. 🙂
Old Cat and Dpuk had the crab fried rice, with no crabs in sight. LOL
But the orangy egg brightened it up a bit.
Pirate and almondjelly had the crab fried rice too, but theirs is with real crab. 🙂
We had a plate of salmon belly to share and that was about it.
We still think Holland Village and Ngee Ann City branches have better chefs. The food from HV’s / NAC’s kitchen somehow tastes better. 🙂
We will go back again in maybe 3 month’s time and see how they fare. It’s opened less than a month, so we expect teething problems.
(For those working in Science Park and NUS, there’s a free shuttle service to West Coast Plaza)
